We are seeking to hire a full-time Senior Hydraulic Modeler to join our team working on river and floodplain restoration projects throughout California. This candidate would be expected to develop and lead hydraulic modeling efforts supporting habitat restoration, fish passage, and general river, floodplain, wetland, and watershed-related design projects.

Required skills/attributes:

  • At least 5 years' expertise applying hydraulic models to the planning or design of flood management or channel design projects using software such as HEC-RAS or similar.

  • Experience managing and reviewing the work of junior staff in application of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.

  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and

  • A collaborative and respectful communication style and desire to work with diverse teams

Desired skills/attributes:

  • Registered Civil Engineer in California

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field

Duties:

  • Perform data collection, analysis, and modeling to support water resource planning and decision-making.

  • Conduct 1D and 2D modeling projects leading a team of junior modelers.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for stream and river restoration projects.

  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.

  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical/professional development of more junior staff.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
